Recruitment Process - Permanent Placements
The Galaxy Personnel recruitment process is based on understanding clients and candidates needs.
With new clients, we begin with an open discussion preferably at the clients' premises so that we can assess the clients' requirements and gain an appreciation of the specific recruitment needs. If appropriate, we will often discuss the specific needs with line managers. We then prepare a detailed job description together with a candidate specification.
A comprehensive search of our database is conducted for suitable candidates after which suitable advertising is used to source the best candidates possible.
Following advertising, we thoroughly screen all enquiries and conduct interviews. Candidates are interviewed using behavioural techniques and we give candidates every opportunity to feel comfortable and perform at their best. Through behavioural style interviews, our consultants seek to identify a candidate's past experience in relation to competencies identified for the requirements of the position. This gives us a good guide to predicting future performance by comparing it to past performance.
Following interviews, we will then discuss suitable candidates, forward resumes and arrange client interviews with short listed candidates at mutually convenient times.
After interviews are conducted, references are thoroughly checked. The reference checking will focus on an objective review of the candidates past performance, achievements, character, competencies and potential.
Following reference checks, we are able to offer advice on salary packaging and negotiate and mediate remuneration offers. Skills testing & Psychometric appraisal can be arranged as required. All candidates will be advised of the outcome of their applications and a follow up process is enacted.
Following placement of our candidate, we maintain constant contact with our placement and client representatives enabling us to develop strong relationships, which centre on two-way feedback. We follow a continuous follow-up process, which is maintained within our recruitment management software. All conversations and tasks are logged on to this system as they occur. In addition, we have an 'after placement service' process in place, which prompts us to regularly follow up candidate performance with the client over a period of three months.
