- Why should I register with Galaxy Personnel?

- Can I register for Temporary or Permanent work?

- Does it cost me anything to register or obtain work through Galaxy Personnel?
No. If you register today, we can help match your skills and experience to a position where you can start a new job opportunity as soon as it arises.
- Why do Agencies still advertise jobs when I am already registered?
Agencies are constantly sourcing new quality candidates to meet their client's needs. You could be one of them!
- Why do I have to fill out extra forms at Galaxy Personnel when I have a resume?
There are various legislative requirements that have to be adhered to. Eg. OH&S, superannuation, taxation and bank details etc. The more information we have, the more likely we are able to place you in your ideal position quickly.
- How can I make a good impression when I start my new job?
SMILE. Be relaxed, be confident that you can do your job well, speak clearly and ask if you need guidance.
- When should I submit my timesheet and when can I expect to be paid?
Timesheets should be submitted by Monday or first working day (if there is a public holiday) for the previous week's work. You can expect to get paid on the Thursday or Friday of the following week, depending on your banking institution.
- What if I miss the weekly timesheet deadline?
Speak to your consultant immediately or you may not get paid on time.
- Can temporary work add value to my career?
Yes. You will be able to gain a variety of experience in different work situations, dealing with several different environments and people.
- Where can I access information on training?
If you are seeking extra training to gain more skills, such as a forklift licence, welding tickets, disconnect/reconnect licence, red card etc. speak to your Galaxy Personnel consultant. That's the difference with Galaxy Personnel; we can actively advise you the best course of action to suit your working requirements.
- What should I do if the client offers me a full-time position with their company?
Before you accept the position, speak to your Galaxy Personnel consultant to ensure that you and the company you work for comply with commercial arrangements that are in place.
- I've heard that I don't get paid for annual leave?
If you are a casual or temporary worker, the casual loading you are paid compensates you for a number of benefits which include annual leave, sick leave, redundancy, long service leave, jury service etc.
- What do I do if I am sick?
Call your supervisor and Galaxy Personnel consultant before the time you are due to start your shift.
- Can I get time off?
Yes, provided you have made prior arrangements with your supervisor and Galaxy Personnel Consultant.
- How do I obtain information about OHS policies and procedures?
All Galaxy Personnel casual employees undergo an OH&S induction prior to being on-hired. Also site specific induction should be carried out by your host employer. If you have any OH&S issues in the workplace, please contact your supervisor and Galaxy Personnel consultant immediately.
- How should I dress for my role?
Dress appropriately for your role. If you a boilermaker, fitter, welder, electrician or other trades person, please ensure you wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. If you are an office temporary, receptionist, bookkeeper, accounts person or staff member, ask your consultant what kind of environment you will be working in and dress appropriately. Also ensure all personal hygiene is adhered to.
- What if I don't like the company / colleagues / location / or job I am posted to?
Please call your Galaxy Personnel consultant immediately and do not leave your workplace without first doing so. We always aim to ensure that the workplace you are posted at is suitable. We always contact you during your assignment or placement to ensure that you are happy in your workplace.
- How do I apply for a job that has been advertised?
Search Galaxy Personnel website to find Job Vacancies currently available. The Job Vacancy listing will provide you with all the information necessary to help you apply for the position. Follow the prompts on screen to submit your online application or contact us by phone or email to discuss any questions about the job. Consult the job vacancy description before submitting your application. Application instructions vary from job to job. For example, there maybe a set of specific requirements such as Australian Visa only.
- I'm under 25 years old with little work experience, what employment opportunities are available for me?
